Live From Live From Emmet's Place
The living-room concert series hosted by pianist Emmet Cohen. Launched in March 2020 from his Harlem apartment, it quickly grew into “the most watched online jazz show in the world” (Good Morning America). Live From Emmet's Place brings together NEA Jazz Masters, Grammy winners and rising young players.
A jazz club in a living room
When stages went dark in 2020, Emmet Cohen and his trio started streaming concerts from home. The show never stopped, and it became a meeting place for musicians across generations.
Each episode is a full concert: Emmet's trio with one or more featured guests, playing standards, originals and deep cuts from the jazz tradition, with conversation and stories between tunes. Younger musicians often sit in alongside the masters.
Recent seasons are presented by Open Studio in partnership with Power Station at Berklee NYC, and the series has gone on the road for special live editions.
